He was the myth and the legend of our small town. But no one
knew the truth… except me.
Me
My childhood was stolen by a monster. I’ve forgotten what
love feels like. What happiness feels like. What hope feels like. I am numb.
Him

He’s possibly as damaged as I am. Maybe even more. Scarred
just as much on the inside as the outside. Just like me. He doesn’t speak. He
doesn’t smile. He hides in the woods like an animal.  I should be scared of him. But I’m not. He’s
the only one that has ever made me feel. And I want to make him feel, too.

This book had me right from the start. From the very first page i was completely drawn into this intensely beautiful story and I loved it, I really really loved it ! Carian’s writing is just pure quality. There was so much sorrow, so much pain and raw emotion in her words that it made me shiver at times, how real it felt a testament to her writing. There is never anything typical about a Carian Cole romance and yet again she has given us something outside the box

Holly and Tyler were destined to be together, to have a second chance at life. Both had been to hell and back and have the physical and emotional scars to prove it, their lives entwined even more than they both realise at first. Each of them is trying the best way they can to get through each day and cope in whatever way possible with all that has happened.

Holly was kidnapped off the streets as a young child and 10 years later is pulled from a hole in the woods by her “prince”, her saviour, Tyler. Having been abused both mentally and physically, she is returned to her family but ends up feeling just as abandoned and alone as before. She dreams of her prince coming back into her life to save her yet again.

After reading Torn, we know that Tyler’s a recluse living in the woods. His back story is gut wrenching, the scars he bares both mentally and physically deep and so raw, still carrying so much guilt and anger about what happened to him. Underneath it all is this man with a heart of gold muddling through life with no real purpose in the best way he can, that is until he pulls Holly out of that hole.

Time and time again fate throws them together. Both are broken, scarred but they find strength in each other. Watching their relationship progress and unfold as i want through the book was beautiful and filled with emotion as they each put their trust in the other. With the support they both learn that their experiences don’t define them and will only control their futures if they let  it.

I think this has got to be my favourite of Carian’s books to date. She showed us that fairy tales do come true if only you believe in them enough and i can’t wait to see what she will have for us next.

He wasn’t always this rich. This hot. This difficult.

Aaric Christos was a guy who protected me. Wanted me. Maybe even loved me.

That man is gone.

In his place is the most powerful real estate tycoon in the city.

He’s a cold, ruthless, aggressive businessman.

The only one who can save me and my startup from ruin.

It takes every ounce of courage to put my pride aside and ask for his help.

I didn’t expect him to offer it easily.

And he doesn’t.

Instead, he vets me harder than he’s vetted anyone.

Don’t invest in what you don’t know, he says.

He’s assessing every piece of me, to the point I’ve never felt so bare.

I yearn for the boy I once knew, whose touch once craved me.

Putting it all on the line will be worth it, I tell myself.

Until I realize—too late—that some risks are not worth taking.

One of the many things that Katy Evans is good at is giving us a fantastic alpha male to fall in love with along with a strong kick ass female and we most certainly got a perfect alpha in Aaric Christos – and may I add that I absolutely love his name! This book was a hot and sexy read with Aaric having me weak at the knees at more than one point and positively swooning for the rest

Tycoon is a second chance romance. Aaric and Bryn were friends in high school both secretly liked each other but neither acted on it. Aaric left their hometown, Austin and now years later is one of the most successful businessmen in New York, investing in property and new business start ups – the perfect man for Bryn to pitch her new business to. He’s cold and ruthless in business, people have to earn his trust before he will invest in them but he also wants a family – marriage and babies and his past means that he will do everything to be the best father that he can.

Bryn’s life has changed so much. Having lost her parents and then the family business she came to New York to get the investment she so desperately needs to start up her own store and fulfil her dreams. She sees Aaric as the perfect person to make this happen, knows his reputation but is determined to push aside any pride she has to ask for his help. Deep down she has always wondered “what if” where things between them are concerned, is he the one that got away, her soul mate, the one she is meant to be with?

Aaric has never forgotten Bryn. He never felt good enough for her back then but now he is determined to make her work for the investment she wants and when he realises that the feelings he had are still there and just as strong he knows there is no way he is going to let anything get in the way of them being together – even his girlfriend.

I do love a second chance romance. We get flashbacks to their past but for me, I guess I would have liked a few more and to really see more of how their relationship was back then, how they both felt. I loved Aaric, everything about this man oozed confidence and sex appeal for me Bryn was a strong woman but at times i found her a little frustrating and some of her decisions maybe a little questionable for her character.

In true Katy style, Aaric will go down as another fantastic alpha male. This book was hot and sexy and I can’t wait to read Sara and Ian’s book – I can see this being a page scorcher

Excerpt:

I hop off the train and walk several walks to his building.

It’s a brownstone in Park Avenue, one of the most elite of the elite spaces in town.

My lungs feel a little bit overworked from awe as I head up the steps to the double doors, grateful that I came dressed to kill in a little black dress, a jacket, and pumps. Simple, but effective.

See, I may be feeling a little awkward, but at least I don’t look it.

I’m greeted by his maid. She’s dressed in black and white, her hair drawn back in a neat bun, her expression stoic and formal as she leads me down the hall to a gorgeous study.

I catch my breath when I notice all the books and shelves.

It’s like a reader’s paradise in here. There’s a sleek chrome bar, a modern mahogany glass-topped desk, and two huge whiskey-colored leather chairs that almost swallow me up when I’m instructed to wait in one.

I drum my fingers, inhaling the scent of leather and wine, remembering a guy I knew with his mechanic navy-blue uniform, black streaks on his jaw, his big nose always the first thing you’d see, which was a pity because he had beautiful eyes and a really sinful pair of lips.

He’s living in luxury now. Wow. Good for him.

I hear footsteps approaching and the little hair on my arms prick at attention. My head turns as a tall, dark figure steps into the room, and the most intimidating guy I’ve ever seen enters and crosses the room toward the desk. He walks like he’s the shit…his strides proud and composed, elegant and powerful.

Christos, I hear myself breathe in surprise.

He’s so tall now…six three, at least. Dirty-blonde hair, gold-green eyes, chiseled jaw, and a gorgeous profile.

All in black, he looks very much a New Yorker.

He’s wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a black turtleneck beneath the jacket…

I stare at him, my jaw hanging a little bit open. The man is….all man. Testosterone. Muscles. Height. Width. My chest hurts all of a sudden because I realize…

The boy you knew is gone.

I force myself to stand. “Thank you for seeing me.”

He heads to the bar to pour two drinks, then he prowls over, takes the whiskey leather chair across from mine and leans forward, pushing a glass of cognac with one finger across a small table, toward me.

And he waits.

In silence.

But my stomach dips as if he’d said something ultra-sexy and decadent.

“You might not remember me, I’m sorry to be reaching out like this,” I say, nervous.

“What do you want?”

There’s a pleasant shiver as he speaks. Recognition of his voice, even though it’s far deeper than I remember.

“I was told you sometimes invest in startups.”

“I’d say more than sometimes.” He raises his eyebrows as if I should’ve done my homework better.

Ugh, Bryn! Focus! Be SMART! Make yourself and your business irresistible! A silence settles as he eyes me, slowly setting his drink down as he leans forward and finally, unexpectedly, smiles. At me.

It’s just a smile.

But the world tilts under its impact.

“Hello, little bit.” Amusement touches his gaze as he tilts his head and watches me. “You know, I’d think you’d have grown up the ten-plus years since I last saw you. At least an inch.” He leans back in his seat, seemingly displeased. Wow, this guy is not the lanky kid I knew once. This guy oozes danger.

Every ounce of “boy” is gone. Oh God. For a moment I wish that we could go back in time and I could discuss my startup with the guy I knew before.

But time travel is not really my talent, and it seems like I have yet to see if I even have any special talents at all—depending on what this guy thinks.

“I grew two in width,” I shock myself saying.

He laughs then, his eyes drinking me in openly.

“Shame on you, you’re not trying to see if it’s true?” I ask him, frowning now.

He shrugs casually, his lips curved at the corners. “I can’t help it. Something has to have changed.”

“Why?”

“Because nothing good ever lasts. Even you, little bit.” A smile touches those unforgettable gold-green eyes.

A shiver runs through me. Because…

Christos recognized me.

“I can tell you’re as incorrigible as ever.” I shake my head, but I’m smiling, truly just relieved that he recognized me.

“I try to be,” he purrs dangerously.

I’m feeling warm all of a sudden. I can’t believe I’m staring at him so much, but it’s like I cannot take my eyes away. He looks achingly familiar, but at the same time, so different I cannot help but stare and track the differences in his features. The way his jaw squared out even more, the way his body filled out with hard, lean muscles that shift and ripple beneath his expensive designer clothes. I cannot believe that this is a guy I knew once.

He seems to silently be taking in my changes too, his keen stare allowing me to see that he seems to approve of it all. Even the dress I’m wearing. “You changed enough for the both of us,” I blurt.

“Really. How so?” he asks.

“You grew into your nose.”

“Really?” He chuckles as if despite himself.

“Width and height too. Quite a bit,” I add.

“Anything else,” he prods, one eyebrow rising.

“You learned how to dress.”

He looks down at his black suit. “This old thing?” He grins, then shifts forward, sobering up. “What can I do for you, Bryn? Considering I’m rather surprised to see you here, I’m eager for you to satiate my curiosity.” His stare becomes keen.

“So am I. I didn’t expect to be here,” I admit, and for a moment when I look into his eyes, all I see is someone I’ve seen before. Someone who belonged in my life long ago. “You know when you had that misplaced crush on me and told me one day I’d know what it felt like to throw pebbles at someone’s window wanting them to open? I’m sort of throwing rocks here.”

“Not to sing me a love song,” he says flatly, his eyes shuttering.

“No. Well, you know that was never….I mean…” Don’t bring up your rejection of him, Bryn! “It’s for something better. Business.”

“Go on.”

“I knew that’d get you.” I smile privately. “So it’s true your love is money now.”

“She gives back what I put in. Though her ass isn’t as juicy as I like,” he says nonchalantly.

“Wow. No matter how polished you look, your mouth is still as crude as ever.”

“Thank you,” he purrs, his eyes grinning at me.

I laugh. Then I sober up and realize he’s waiting for me to speak. “I’m looking for money for my startup,” I say.

“How much.”

“One hundred thousand.”

“I don’t invest less than a million.” He twirls his whiskey in his glass, eyeing the liquid.

“Well then, I’ll ask for a million.”

He raises his brows, setting his glass down. “It’s not how much you want to ask for, it’s how much the company’s worth.” Eyebrows up, he skewers me with a cold, intimidating look.

“It’ll be worth more than a million, trust me,” I bluff.

“Good for you. Except…” he leans back with a rustle of clothes, every athletic inch of his black-clad body flowing sinuously like a feline with the move, “considering that has yet to happen and I’ll need to trust you on that, my trust needs to be earned.”

This version of Christos is even more intimidating than the old one, unfortunately.

I try to hide it, keeping my voice as level as possible. “How does one earn your trust?”

“I’d tell you if I were interested, but I’m not exactly sure that I am.” He eyes me as if debating in silence.

This guy is the only guy in the world that unnerves me in this way, and I can’t seem to slow the fast pounding of my heart in my chest as I try to remember what I came here to say.

“I have a full presentation for you. I’m not taking no for an answer.” I reach into my briefcase.

“Darling. Are you ready?”

I start at the female voice and glance at a gorgeous woman striding into the study. Christos continues looking at me as he stands and reaches for the cell phone the woman extends out.

“We’re done here,” he answers her as he pockets the phone, his gaze remaining on me.

“I’ll wait for you in the car.” She leans up and kisses his jaw, her hands proprietary on his chest, then sends me a woman-to-woman claiming look, before she swishes away, all glittering jewels and lean body.

There’s a silence as he approaches, and for a second all I can hear is the sound of a toilet flushing, taking my only opportunity with a possible investor away.

“I’ll think about it,” he says.

“Christos.”

“I said I’ll think about it,” he says from the door.

“Please do,” I say as he exits the room. I cup the sides of my mouth, “I’ll be back tomorrow. Same time?” I say jokingly.

I’m surprised when I hear footsteps returning. He pauses when our eyes meet. “I’ll make contact,” he says, raising his eyebrows meaningfully, “If I’m interested in hearing more.” He nods. “Nice to see you, Bryn.”

“Nice to see you. Christos.”

Well, that went sort of awful.

Each book in this series is just getting better and better. I have always been intrigued by Hyde and his broody, alpha ways from our little glimpses in previous books and oh boy was it worth the wait. I feel like a broken record saying this is my favourite in the series so far but in all honesty they just keep getting better and better.

Hyde has been through a lot in his life and from the start of this book we get his back story giving us an insight into how he became the man he is today. He has made sacrifices to protect those he loves and carries a ton of guilt about those decisions but now he wants to go back and make it right. He’s hot headed, filthy mouthed, stubborn as hell and oh so hot and broody but underneath it all he has a huge heart.

Then we have Monroe. This girl was just what Hyde needs. She’s sassy, fiery as hell with a smart mouth, quick wit and stubborn to boot. There is plenty of playful banter between the two of them and the attraction is hot and sizzling. She is the perfect distraction from everything going on at Storm as well as his private life. Monroe has her list and Hyde certainly ticks quite a few of the boxes and even though she’s sworn off bikers, just one night won’t hurt, would it?

I love a good MC book, its one of my favourite genres and with each book this is turning into another fantastic series from Nina. You can’t help but fall in love with each of her broody, hot as hell, alpha males. This was a fab addition to the series, I love how we get to see the other side of these men and not just how they are with the club. Well done Nina, i’m really looking forward to reading King’s book next .

When I found an eviction notice taped on my apartment door, I had two options: find a comfortable cardboard box to call home, or move in with Tucker Jameson.
Seeing that cardboard makes me feel itchy, I chose the latter. Which shouldn’t be that big of a deal since Tucker is one of my good friends. And because he’s still pining after his ex-girlfriend and I’m trying to finish my nursing degree, there is nothing to worry about in the romance department, making my last semester an easy one to conquer.
Boy, was I wrong.
Rules are set, dinners are made, conversations are had, and a shirtless, swoony roommate walks around in nothing but a pair of black briefs, ruining me for every other man.
Before I know it, I turn into a panting, lust-filled woman begging for Tucker to kiss me, touch me, and show me exactly what is hiding under those briefs.
But with great orgasms, comes great consequences.
Tucker might be my friend and roommate but he’s also my best friend’s ex-boyfriend, making him completely off-limits. At least that’s what my brain is telling me, my heart is speaking an entirely different language.

Whenever i find out that Meghan is releasing a new book, i can’t help but get excited as no one does hot, sexy, rom-coms like she does. The pacing is always great, the characters lovable and he humour thrown in never ceases to have me hooked within the first few pages and i am happy to report that My Best Friend’s Ex was certainly no exception. This time Meghan has given us, as you can tell from the title, a best friend’s ex boyfriend romance, a little controversial maybe but the way its written just has you falling in love with both of these characters right from the very start.

When nursing student Emma finds out that she and her room mate are going to be made homeless in a week, bumping into her old friend Tucker, who she hasn’t seen in a while, at a local bar seems almost too good to be true. Tucker’s life had not been the easiest of late, his hopes and dreams shattered when his ex-girlfriend lost his baby and then fell in love with another man, the house that he brought for them empty and unloved.

Before he knows whats happening, Tucker is offering Emma a room in his house and what starts as the reconnection of a friendship, soon turns into something more, much more. Innocent touches, flirty exchanges and many humorous moments. The chemistry sizzles between them and before they know it lines have been crossed. Of course, nothing is smooth sailing – Tucker’s ex is Emma’s best friend Sadie and Emma can’t help but feel guilty about her developing relationship with Tucker despite knowing that Sadie is happy with her new boyfriend, Andrew. Tucker is still carrying baggage from the break up with Sadie but he needs to over come this if things are going to work out between them

Meghan Quinn is the rom-com queen in my eyes. She never fails to deliver endearing characters the make you laugh, make you cry and then make you swoon and her secondary characters are always fantastic – I can’t wait to read Racer’s story.. After reading Co-Wrecker i was firmly team Andrew but now however, after reading this book, i’m Tucker all the way. Meghan did a fantastic job showing us a different side to him and it made me love him all the more. Well done Meghan another fantastic read.

Born in New York and raised in Southern California, Meghan has grown into a sassy, peanut butter eating, blonde haired swearing, animal hoarding lady. She is known to bust out and dance if “It’s Raining Men” starts beating through the air and heaven forbid you get a margarita in her, protect your legs because they may be humped.
Once she started commuting for an hour and twenty minutes every day to work for three years, she began to have conversations play in her head, real life, deep male voices and dainty lady coos kind of conversations. Perturbed and confused, she decided to either see a therapist about the hot and steamy voices running through her head or start writing them down. She decided to go with the cheaper option and started writing… enter her first novel, Caught Looking.
Now you can find the spicy, most definitely on the border of lunacy, kind of crazy lady residing in Colorado with the love of her life and her five, furry four legged children, hiking a trail or hiding behind shelves at grocery stores, wondering what kind of lube the nervous stranger will bring home to his wife. Oh and she loves a good boob squeeze!

5 Stars!!!

Best book of the series so far!

In this book we follow the lives and story of Dean “Ruckus” Cole and his Baby Leblanc, Rosie.

I found myself instantly endeared to Dean. Even though he was a wrong en and definitely on self destruct, you can tell deep down he had a heart of gold and his heart definitely belongs to Rosie.
The only problem is Rosie won’t have anything to do with him.

Rosie Leblanc is not living. She’s Millie Leblancs fragile little sister. Spending her time working in a coffee shop and volunteering at the hospital. The only thing she’s managed to do is move away from home. Even if it is into Deans building.

With Rosies sister marrying Vicious, Deans friend and one of the hot holes, there’s no way Rosie is going to be able to avoid Dean but the real question is, does she even want to?

This book held so much emotion within its pages that I found myself both wanting to speed read and slow down so I could enjoy it more. It’s a GREAT read and I love Rosie and Dean.

And that plot twist though! I did not see that coming! 😱😃 Well played Leigh, we’ll played! 😃

This series is fab!

I can’t wait for the next one. Trent has definitely got a story to tell!

An NFL player with a secret past, and the one woman with the power to turn his world inside out…
Former actress Emma Rothschild is partying in Vegas in disguise. But I’m not fooled. Five years ago, I knew that body better than my own, and I haven’t forgotten a single detail—not the curve of her hip beneath my hand or the hitch in her breath when I kiss her neck.
When Emma’s unexpectedly left alone in Sin City, I agree to spend the weekend with her. As friends. Why not? If I can knock down the toughest guys in the NFL, I’m strong enough to keep my hands to myself, even if she is the sexiest woman I’ve ever met.
Emma is part of my past—years so shrouded in secrets that not even my best friends know the truth about who I am. I’m a single dad now and not interested in revisiting my old ways or trying to win back the only woman I ever let close enough to break my heart.
But this is Vegas, where all bets are off, and with Emma, nothing ever goes as planned…

4.5 Stars.

Well that was a roller coaster of a read!

Emma and Keegan find themselves running into one another in Vegas of all places on separate weekends away and fireworks fly!
Though it soon becomes apparent that they already know eachother and although it’s been 5 years since they last spoke, they didn’t leave eachothers lives on the best of terms.

There is an instant chemistry between them that has you so intrigued but you have no idea why, there are so many secrets waiting to be uncovered.

I’ve got to say, at times I found myself so frustrated with them, I just wanted them to get it sorted and be happy but it was one hell of a read I just couldn’t stop once I started.

I loved the fact that these characters had flaws and pasts and had done things they weren’t proud of, it made them that much more real and I found myself rooting for both of them.

It’s definitely a story of twists and turns but definitely one I’d recommend. It was fab!

Excerpt

“You’re too beautiful,” I tell her. I run my thumb along her jaw. “Too fucking beautiful.”“I’ve missed you. You’re the best man I’ve ever met.”

My stomach clenches and I shake my head. “Don’t think that. It’s a lie. It’s what I wanted you to believe. Don’t bring that lie into tonight.”

“How was it a lie?” She grins up at me, and I know a full confession would erase all the happiness from her face.

“When we were together before, I wasn’t the man you thought I was. I wasn’t good.” It’s the closest to the truth I’ve ever given anyone about my past.

“So you don’t want me believing you’re good?”

I pull her hips tightly against me as I exhale in frustration. She still thinks this is some kind of joke. “I’m different now, but then…”

She lifts onto her toes and flicks her tongue against my ear. “Don’t be so different. I like you a little bad.”

I groan and stop dancing. I don’t know how much longer I can do this without diving over the line. “Is that permission to stop being your friend?” I’m obsessed with knowing if she tastes as sweet as I remember. And if I swipe my tongue over the sensitive spot beneath her ear, will she gasp like she always did?

She shrugs and grins, and the dance floor tilts off balance. It’s crowded, and we’re surrounded by writhing bodies, cocooned in the crowd. I turn her in my arms so her back is to my front and settle my hand against the soft skin of her midriff. She arches her back and rubs against me.

I sweep her hair to the side, and when I press my lips to the long, smooth column of her neck, she trembles against me.

“Are you okay?” I ask against her ear. “Is this okay?”

“I—I’m not sure…”

“Tell me what you want. Not five years ago. Not tomorrow. What do you want right now?”

She reaches back and threads her fingers through my hair to guide my mouth back to her neck.

I don’t hesitate. I kiss and suck on that tender skin while we move to the beat.

The rest of the room fades and one song blurs into the next. A waitress comes by selling shots, and I buy two, one for each of us, and we lock eyes as we throw them back. At some point, I’m vaguely aware of Bailey checking on me, but my focus is one hundred percent on Emma, on this night that takes me back to when I was eighteen and so fucking in love it hurt. Tonight, Emma isn’t the woman who once broke my heart. She isn’t the girl who wrote me off with a simple goodbye note and apologies I didn’t want. Tonight, she’s a dream, my fantasy in the flesh, my reward for surviving the hardest year of my whole life.

When her face begins to blur, I realize I’m way more drunk than I ever intended. I need to sober up or I’m not going to remember a minute of this night. “Want to get out of here?”

She nods, takes my hand, and leads me out of the bar and down the hall to the elevators. My watch reads a quarter past two.

“Let’s get some food,” I suggest, but at the same moment, an elevator dings and the doors slide open.

Emma grabs my hand and drags me inside. “I don’t want food,” she says, punching a button.

I spin her around and press her against the wall. “What do you want, Em?” I drop my hand to her side to skim my knuckles over her skirt, and she widens her stance to part her thighs. “Fuck,” I whisper. I shouldn’t do this. Not here, not when any moment someone could join us on the elevator, not when we’re both so damn drunk it’s a wonder we can stand upright. But shouldn’t is so much weaker than want, and I want to touch her more than I want anything right now.

I’m faintly aware of the soft beeping of the passing floors as I slide my hand up her skirt and cup her between her legs. She gasps, and I rub my fingers over the damp lace of her panties, teasing her swollen flesh.

When the elevator stops and the doors slide open, she grabs my wrist and holds me still. “Please,” she whispers in my ear. “Please. Don’t stop.” Then she tilts her hips and rocks against my hand. I couldn’t refuse her if every person in the hotel was watching us.
