The British Knight by Louise Bay – Blog Tour & Review

The British Knight, an all-new standalone contemporary romance by Louise Bay is available NOW!!!

The British Knight by Louise Bay
Release Date: December 5th
Genre: Contemporary Romance

When I’m offered the chance to leave New York to live in London for three months, I can’t pack my suitcase fast enough.

As soon as I touch down I’m obsessing over red telephone boxes, palaces and all the black cabs.

But my favorite place is the tube. It’s wall-to-wall hot British men in suits.

When I’m offered a temporary job working for a barrister, I say, sign me up.

On my first commute into work, it’s a total accident when I lose my balance and fall against the most handsome Brit alive. He’s as charming as James Bond and as suave as Mr. Darcy. I want to lick tea from his hard abs and listen to his accent all night long.

Turns out Mr. Handsome is my new boss. And his attitude isn’t as hot as his gorgeous face, broad shoulders and tight ass. He’s brooding, short-tempered and the most arrogant man I’ve ever met.

As we’re fighting, out of nowhere he kisses me. And I’m pretty sure I see fireworks over Big Ben and hear God Save the Queen.

I wasn’t looking for the fairytale but I might have found my knight in shining armor. The problem is he lives an ocean away.

A stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Another fantastic book from Louise. Her books are just so highly addictive, engaging and hot that you are left wanting more and waiting with baited breath for what will come next.

Violet King is feisty, a real spitfire but she’s pretty much at rock bottom. Having lost another waitressing job, her money is running out and to top it all, her cheating ex boyfriend is just about to take the business they started together public and make millions in the process. She sees herself floundering and doesn’t like it one bit, this isn’t who she is, she is so much more so when the chance of a 3 month job in London comes up its just what she needs.

Alexander Knightly, top London barrister is moody, demanding and a complete workaholic who is trying to live up to the reputation and legacy that his father left behind. With a failed marriage behind him he doesn’t have time for relationships, for a personal life so when Violet is assigned to him to sort the mess that is his office and his backlog of billing, he is less than pleased.

What neither of them counted on is the chemistry and what starts off as a casual office fling soon develops into so much more. These two breathed life back into each other at a time that they really needed it and whilst their journey was not an easy one, it certainly was one that was worth while. I absolutely loved Alex and Violet, i loved going on their journey with them. Well done Louise, another fab book to add to my collection.

My workout this morning had been punishing. The harder I worked, the harder I worked out. I was a big believer in that if I wasn’t physically fit, I couldn’t perform as well in my job. And I was willing to do whatever I had to do to be the best barrister I could be. As a result, I’d been up since five, worked out until six thirty, and then had a conference call with Dubai at seven. I hated days when I was late into the office, but this morning couldn’t be helped. My commute had been . . . unusual. The woman I’d knocked into while getting off the tube had been beautiful, and I couldn’t keep the image of her gazing up at me in the middle of Lincoln’s Inn Fields out of my brain. I needed to focus. And perhaps get laid when I got the time. But it wouldn’t be tonight. I’d be working. I had hundreds of witness statements to go through and my opening statement to draft.

In three days, I’d be in court, and that was my sole focus. There was no time to be wasted on fantasizing about women.

As I trawled through my emails, trying to pick out the important ones from the hundreds littering my inbox, someone knocked at my door. I resisted the temptation to growl. I hated being interrupted—I needed a sign for the door.

“Come in,” I barked.

The door swung open, and I could tell by the footsteps that the head clerk had swooped in. “Mr. Knightley.”

“Craig.” I didn’t take my focus off my laptop screen. Craig was an avuncular and charming man in his mid-fifties. He’d been in the business since he was fifteen and had clerked my father. If anyone could interrupt me, he could. And he knew it. Over the years, I’d tried to get him to call me Alex, but he insisted all the clerks and admin staff call the barristers by their surnames. The bar could be a very old-fashioned place.

“I want to introduce you to your new assistant, Violet King.”

I paused, my fingers hovering over my keyboard. I knew nothing of this and would never have agreed to it—I worked alone. Slowly, I turned to find Craig in front of my desk, his eyebrows raised in expectation.

“My what?” I asked. A figure moved in beside him and I slid my gaze to the right. I found myself staring straight at the beautiful woman who’d invaded my thoughts since I’d arrived in chambers. What was going on? I looked away from her, sure that Craig would see my attraction to her if my eyes lingered over her for more than a split second.

Pepper Winters has well and truly nailed it with a fantastic conclusion to the Dollars series. What a journey she has taken us on, with the end of every book leaving us hanging on, waiting with baited breath to find out what was going to happen next. With the start of each book we have been woven further and further into the lives of Elder and Pim as they both grow and evolve through each page. Millions brings it all together in a shattering final instalment that will take you on one hell of a rollercoaster ride.

Picking up right from where the last book left off, Pim has been taken again but this time by the man we know and love as Q who believes he is rescuing her from her captor. Elder has been left for dead, shot, beaten and floating in the water but what we know about him should make you realise that not even this is going to keep him from getting her back. With the Chinmoku also breathing down his neck and the time to defeat them drawing nearer and nearer this book was always going to keep you on the edge of your seat

Throughout this series we have seen Pim thrive and grow from the scared and mute girl to a woman with strength and determination that knows no bounds. Elder had his own demons which he has been fighting since he was a child and we have watched him continue to battle with them further through each book but with Millions we really begin to see his passion for the woman he loves and what he will do in order to protect her and get the HEA that they both deserve

A love story with a difference, one that follows anything but a traditional path but is still full of such intense passion and emotions. With each new series that Pepper writes she cements herself further and further as one of my favourite authors. The quality of her writing immerses you in her stories as they weave there way into your very soul as you live and breath every page along with her characters. An epic and fitting conclusion to another amazing series and worthy of more than the 5 stars on offer.

Cuffed by K Bromberg is now LIVE – Review

From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new series about three brothers, the job that calls them, and the women who challenge them.

“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.

Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.

But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it.

What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

 5 Stars

Wow, I should have known that a K Bromberg book would be the way to get me out of a book funk and get me out of it Cuffed most certainly did. This book is so much more than a second chance romance, it is the story of two best friends who separated at the age of 8, find their way back to each other some 20 years later.

Emerson “Emmy” Reeves has been a gypsy for the last 20 years, moving from place to place, never putting down roots or staying too long. Sky diving is her life, the only thing that brings her some sense of peace, quiets the noises in her head caused by the nightmares from her past. Returning back to her childhood home after so many years away was always going to be difficult but when she comes face to face with Grant Malone, her childhood best friend, the boy she threatened to hate forever, her past comes crashing into the present.

Grant Malone, son of ex chief of police, has followed in his fathers footsteps, joining the force. He has always wanted to be a hero, a fixer and he has missed his best friend since she left telling him she hated him. Shocked to find Emmy back, Grant is determined to make up for telling her secret, betraying her trust. He loves her, he always has, he just needs to convince her of that.

I loved Emmy, she had been through so much in her life. Spending her time chasing away the nightmares, seeing Grant again has brought it all flooding back. The chemistry between them is intense and at first Emmy doesn’t know how to handle it and a struggle ensures with Grant determined to not let her go again.

Kristy did not hold back with this book. It was an incredibly emotional love story but also the story of a woman fighting to regain her life, to start living again and put the past well and truly where it should be, in the past. Add to this, a man who will do just about anything to make this happen and you have one hell of a second chance at friendship, of love and at living. Head up, Wings out, this is another fantastic book from Kristy and i can’t wait to meet the next Malone brother.

3.5 Stars

Picking up right from where part 1 left off, this is the conclusion the Kason and Adeline’s story. The second half of this duet was full of heartache, trauma and anguish as Ady struggles to come to terms with the assault she suffered. Pushing everyone away – her mum, her friends and especially Kason, she withdraws into her shell, spiralling into depression unable to deal with what has happened. Unable to confess to the one person more than anyone that will know what she is going through, Kason. Knowing something has happened to her, he tries hard to hold onto Ady but she just shuts down more and more until she finally does the unthinkable and leaves running to Miami and Micah.

Kason has been through so much. His own horrific past continues to haunt him with the shame and guilt still forefront in his mind. The only person that quells those fears, makes it all bearable is Ady and you are left wanting to pull him into your arms, take all that hurt and pain away when it all spirals out of control when she leaves.

I felt this book was more focused on Adeline and her recovery and i would have liked a little bit more on Kason and his journey but that said, I did enjoy this part more than the first. Adeline is one of those characters who i think you will like but you will also dislike. Me, I think I disliked her more than i liked her. I found her frustrating, immature at times and somewhat selfish. Yes, she went to hell and back but the way in which she dealt with it caused so much pain for everyone and one person was always going to get hurt. This is an emotion filled book and is it the best conclusion to the story …… I’m not sure

What a tumble down the rabbit hole this story was!!!! This is by no means, a book for the feint hearted, its about as twisted and dark as they come and more than a little batshit crazy but i think this is one of the things i loved about it the most, Tillie’s way she pushes her readers to the limit and leaves you with many jaw dropping moments.

Heathen and Ellis were two children from different backgrounds both living a life shut up in a house of horrors surrounded by monsters of the worst kind. From an early age, Heathen “Rabbit” James has lived a life of darkness whereas Ellis “Dolly” Earnshaw’s life is full of colour spurred on by her love of dancing, tea parties and all things Alice in Wonderland. They are drawn to each other and an unlikely friendship is formed until they are ripped apart.

Eleven years later and Rabbit has come back for his Dolly but what he finds is a broken shell, Ellis is lost, trapped in the room of doors waiting to be set free and free her they will. It’s time for revenge, time to find those responsible pay in the worst possible way.

Tillie has not held back in anyway. This book is graphic, it will chill you to the very core and leave you sick to your stomach in places but you won’t be able to put it down compelled to find out the end to this utterly unique story. Move over Harley Quinn and the Joker, there are a new pair of crazies in town.

Rabbit turned off the country road we were on and pulled onto a dirt path. Bushy tree branches curled above us to create a tunnel. I leaned my head back and caught the last rays of sun slicing through the leaves. When I lifted my head I saw a building up ahead. A house made from wood stood before us.
Rabbit pulled the car to a halt. There were no sounds coming from this house. No screams or crying. Everything was just . . . silent.
Rabbit’s hands slid from the wheel, and without looking at me, he said, “This is where we’ll be staying for the next several days.”
I leaned forward and looked out of the window. “Your home?”
He shook his head. “The first stop on our adventure.” I looked at him and found his silver eyes were already on me. “We have many stops to go.”
My heart fluttered in nervous excitement. “And this is number one . . .” I whispered, more to myself than Rabbit.
Rabbit opened his door. I was still staring at the woods surrounding this place when my car door opened too. Rabbit stood, rabbit-headed cane in hand, waiting for me to leave the car. I swallowed back the nerves that were creeping up my throat and stepped out. The ground crunched beneath my shoes.
“This way.” Rabbit held his arm out toward the house. I fell into step beside him. I glanced all around us, searching for any sign of people. As if reading my mind, Rabbit said, “There is just you and I here for now. We will meet more people when our journey truly begins.”
“It has not begun?”
Rabbit led us to a wooden door and paused. Gripping the head of his cane tighter, he faced me and said, “Soon, darlin’. Before we go, we must prepare.” He opened the door. “But first . . . tea.”
My breath caught in my throat. Beyond the threshold lay the most perfect tea-party spread one ever did see. “Rabbit!” I gasped. My hands flew to my mouth. I took a step forward into the house and onward into the magical room just beyond. As I passed Rabbit I looked up to see him watching me. I moved swiftly to the long table in the center of the wooden-paneled room, and my eyes widened as I beheld the spread. A white tablecloth lay over the table. Tall seats were positioned around it—eight to be exact—and at each seat was set a plate, a teacup and a saucer. I ran my hand over the cloth and smiled at the silver-domed dishes in the center of the table. I looked behind me to find Rabbit, but he was nowhere in sight. Turning back to the table, I lifted the first silver dome to peek at what was underneath. My mouth watered when I saw strawberry tarts. Smiling in excitement, I skipped to the next. Victoria sponge. Desperate to see them all, I removed each cover—cucumber sandwiches, Bakewell tarts, Battenberg cake, carrot cake . . . so much cake! All of England’s finest delicacies.
My favorites.
A floorboard creaked behind me, and I turned to see Rabbit walking back into the room. I opened my mouth to ask him where everything came from, but then I spotted what he held in his hands.
“Tea?” I asked as Rabbit placed the silver tray, which held a teapot, a jug of milk and a bowl of sugar, on the table. I walked closer and closed my eyes as I inhaled deeply. “Earl Grey,” I whispered, smelling my absolute favorite tea in the entire world.
“Only ever Earl Grey for my little Dolly,” Rabbit confirmed and pulled out a chair for me. I sat down, and Rabbit tucked me in. He took the seat a few places down and gestured to the food. “Help yourself. After all, this tea party is in your honor.”
A giddy laugh escaped my throat as I reached forward and carefully selected a variety of cakes and sandwiches. When I had filled my plate, I took the teapot and poured myself a cup. Rabbit watched me with a peculiar look on his face. His lip was hooked at the corner, and his eyes were . . . soft. His eyes were never soft, always hard and focused, but as he looked at me now, they were almost gentle.
I swallowed, unsure what this strange feeling in my stomach was. I pressed my free hand to my stomach as a comfort against the strange tingling sensations inside. “Tea?” I offered, my voice barely above a whisper.
Rabbit nodded; not a word escaped his mouth. His gaze became more intense as I moved beside him and poured the steaming liquid into his cup. As my arm neared him, I felt him stiffen in his seat. Only a sliver of air prevented our limbs touching. His breathing grew labored as he watched me pour.
But we didn’t touch.
Clearing my throat, I placed the teapot back on the tray and moved to take my seat once again. Just as I took a step, an image floated into my head. Of me and Rabbit. Lips touching. My entire body tensed.
I heard Rabbit’s ragged breathing behind me. Goosebumps broke out along my body, chasing one another up my arms and up to the back of my neck. Shaking my head clear of the image, I sat back down.
I raised my eyes and found Rabbit watching me intensely. I lifted my teacup toward my lips. Rabbit did the same, but just as the lip of the teacup almost reached his mouth, I shouted, “Rabbit!” He froze. “Your little finger!” I scolded. I lowered my cup and shook my head. “You cannot drink tea without raising your little finger, silly!”
Rabbit exhaled, then bowed his head. “You’re right, darlin’. How could I forget?”

4 Stars

The second instalment in the Forbidden Desires series and the conclusion to Gavin and Emma’s story. In this book we pick up from where the first left off with revelations about Gavin’s past. Emma is thrown into a whirlwind, not knowing what to believe and ultimately has to decide which Kingsley brother she wants more.

I found this book a little slower than the first and whilst there was plenty going on, it seemed to take a while to get there and didn’t make the same impression on me as the first. Like all of Kendall’s books, it is well written and i can’t wait to read Quinn and Cooper’s books

The start to a sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author, Kendall Ryan…

She’s much too innocent for me, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the sweet, young librarian. I’m dominating and possessive, and my control streak runs a mile wide.

The way she looks at me—like I’m one of the heroes in the books she loves, like I’m broken, and she wants to be the one to piece me back together—it only complicates things further. I’m nobody’s hero.

But there’s no denying my tragic past reads like one of her favorite literary classics. It’s raw. Visceral. Captivating. And together, we’re a perfect mess.

How am I expected to resist when the sexual sparks zap between us and set me on fire? The need to control, and claim her force my walls to come tumbling down, but when she learns my dirty little secret, will my world come crashing down with it?
