5 Stars

I have always had a weakness for MC books, I love the grittiness of them and I have been so excited since Zoey announced this one, her first MC book and she so did not disappoint. I got grit, I got the darkness that I love about MC, I got fantastic characters, I got drama, suspense and plenty of hotness thrown in. This story had plenty of impact, it hooked me in and at 3am i had to force myself to put it down so i could get some sleep before the alarm went off at 6am, the sign of a great book.

Lily “Kiwi” and her brother Kellan “Tryke” were born into The Wicked Angels MC family, the children of the club president of the Roswell chapter with Tryke destined to follow in his fathers footsteps. When there parents are killed in a car accident, Tryke does everything he can to protect Lily, keep her away from MC club life but when the unthinkable happens and Lily is left alone, alone and running from the place she grew up, everything that she knew with one thing on her mind ….. REVENGE.

Loki is her brothers best friend and Lily has loved him for as long as she can remember and the feeling is mutual. He is determined to keep his promise to Tryke and look out for her always and in doing so he has to let her go. When Lily shows up again 6 years later, the feelings are all still there and he is not letting her walk away again.

Wicked Revenge gave us a strong and feisty female in Lily who was hell bent on revenge and not afraid to do what she needs to to get it. The story was packed full of action, twists and turns and plenty of surprises along the way….. I LOVED it !!! I can’t wait for the next instalment in this series to see what Zoey has to offer us next.

Damnable Grace by Tillie Cole – Blog Tour and Review

EVEN THE BROKEN, THROUGH LOVE, CAN FIND GRACE…

Secrets never stay hidden.

The burden of guilt never lifts from the heart.

Born and raised in The Order of David, Sister Phebe knows nothing but cult life. Head of the Sacred Sisters of New Zion, Phebe was groomed from childhood for one purpose: to seduce. Prized as a harlot, as a New Zion whore, Phebe is taken from the doomed cult by Meister, the notorious leader of the Aryan Brotherhood. Taken as his possession. Taken to be the woman who will obey his every sexual demand. Under his heavy hand, Phebe finds herself in a place much worse than she could ever have imagined… with absolutely no one to help. And no glimpse of hope.

Xavier ‘AK’ Deyes is content with his life as Sergeant-At-Arms of the Hades Hangmen. Leader of the infamous ‘Psycho Trio’ and ex-special ops sniper, AK knows how to fight. Experienced in warfare and schooled in military operations, AK is vital to the Hangmen. When his Vice President needs help retrieving his missing sister-in-law, Phebe, from a Klan-funded trafficking ring, AK volunteers to go in. AK remembers the redhead from New Zion. Remembers everything about her from the single time they met—her red hair, blue eyes and freckled face. But when he finds her, heavily drugged and under Meister’s control, her sorry condition causes him to remember more than the beautiful woman he once tied to a tree. Saving Phebe forces hidden demons from his past to return. A past he can never move on from, no matter how hard he tries.

As AK fights to help Phebe, and in turn she strives to help him, they realize their secret sins will never leave them alone. Kindred broken souls, they realize the only way they can be rid of their ghosts is to face them together and try to find peace.

Despair soon turns to hope, and damaged hearts soon start to heal. But when their deep, painful scars resurface, becoming too much to bear, the time comes when they must make a heavy choice: stay forever damned; or together, find grace.

Dark Contemporary Romance. Contains explicit sexual situations, violence, disturbingly sensitive and taboo subjects, offensive language and very mature topics. Recommended for age 18 and over.

Nearly 24 hrs later and i am still trying to find the words to convey my love for this book and in fact the whole series – words are literally failing me. With each book I start feeling that Tillie can’t possibly shock me anymore, rip out my heart anymore, make me love her writing anymore and every time I am proved wrong. Tillie’s writing gives me palpitations, my throat runs dry, my anxiety levels high, I’m on the edge of my seat but it is so addictive that despite not wanting to turn the page on more than one occasion, I still do every time.

AK – part of the psycho trio with Flame and Vike, his story has literally gutted me. Buried deep inside is so much pain, regret and sadness. He lives under a cloud of guilt but to those around him he is strong, ex military, a sharp shooter and fiercely loyal to his brothers especially Flame and Vike and in addition Lil’ Ash (I can’t wait for his book)

Phebe has never known anything other than pain, torture and loss. Her life in the order strictly controlled, trained to recruit men by using her womanly ways for a long time she was a willing participant, believing in all that the order stood for. Cracks started to show, her beliefs are rocked and the guilt that she feels almost too much to bare.

It felt like these two were destined to find each other. Both filled with so much pain, so much guilt, they were the light in each others darkness, the raft to cling onto in stormy seas, they saved each other in more ways than one bringing sunshine into each others lives.

This book is all kinds of AMAZING!!! Its raw, its brutal but at the same time it is also beautiful and full of hope. For someone saying I didn’t have the words, I have certainly found plenty to say. I urge you to read this series, start from book 1 and prepare yourself to be captured heart and soul by the Hangmen and if you have already then you are going to love, love, love this book as I did.

“Well?” Ky asked.
Tanner ran his hand over his head. The brother hadn’t attended one of our cookouts or slutfests in weeks. Not that he ever entertained himself with sluts—still too hard for his piece of pussy down in Mexico. He’d been busy trying to track down Meister. Unlike most of the white-power shit Tanner and Tank grew up with, this Meister was untraceable and off the grid. As much of a computer whizz kid as Tanner was, Meister was proving to be one slippery fucking snake to pin down.
“Gotta be honest, I didn’t think I was anywhere close to finding anything on this prick.” Tanner nodded toward Tank. “We knew of him, of course. I knew he had dealings with my father and uncle, just never met him myself. He’s Aryan Brotherhood, but works closely with the Klan. And there’s nothing on him. No email traces, no invoices, no texts. Nothing.”
I gritted my teeth and glanced at Styx, who was listening closely. Ky wasn’t originally gonna tell the prez about the plan to get Phebe, because of his fucking wedding, but that didn’t last long. Styx knew something was up with his VP. He read him like I read Flame and Vike. So Ky fessed up, and Styx was all for the plan. He’d had to push his wedding back by a month anyhow to get the pastor Mae wanted to conduct the ceremony, so he had time to kill.
“But you found something?” Ky translated as Styx signed.
Tanner sighed, the black circles around his eyes showing how hard the brother had been working. “I got something.” He shook his head, and my blood ran cold. I knew whatever he had found wasn’t good.
Tanner opened the file in front of him and threw a photograph toward the prez. Styx looked at it, then gave it to Ky. “Some middle-of-nowhere ghost town?”
Ky passed the picture around. Vike handed it to me, and I studied it. It was an aerial shot, and the picture was grainy, but from what I could make out, it was just a huge piece of land scattered with decrepit old buildings.
I passed the picture along. “Fucker owns this?”
Tanner faced me. “Yeah, or at least his father did. He’s dead now, but the deeds are still in his father’s name. Been in the family for decades. Took me a while to trace it.” He shook his head. “Meister is notorious among the Klan. Right, Tank?”
“Yeah,” Tank agreed. “Never met him either, but we’d all heard of him. Prick has been mobilizing for years for the race war they think is coming. Real serious, Oklahoma-City-bomb shit. From what we’ve heard, the guy has a one-track mind when it comes to advancing the white race. You think Hitler was fucked up? Well, imagine if he had a kid who was one built motherfucker, with a fucking carbon copy of his psycho mind; and you’ve got Meister. Fucker ain’t even German. Just wishes he was, spouting German phrases around like he’s born and bred Berlin. Delusional asshole.”
“This ain’t gonna be easy,” Tanner finished, looking at me, Vike, Flame, Hush and Cowboy. It was the five of us who had agreed to go looking for Phebe. Hush and Cowboy nodded at me to let me know they were still in.
“So he’s in this ghost town?” Ky asked, translating Styx’s sign language again. “If so, we’ll all just go in and get him, make the fucker talk and tell us where he’s got Phebe.”
Tanner sat forward. “He ain’t just living in the ghost town or hiding out. That’s where he has his enterprise.”
“Enterprise?” Ky echoed. It was his own question this time.
Tanner nodded. “From what I can tell, it’s a fucking brothel. Members of the Aryan Brotherhood, Klan, or Klan sympathizers, can go there for a night or a few days at a time.” Tank shifted uncomfortably next to him. “Ain’t sure, but I’m thinking it ain’t just getting your dick sucked and fucked. It’ll be real fucked-up shit. If Meister’s reputation is anything to go by, we would be walking into an organized, armed hellhole.” Tanner’s eyes darkened. “I get the Klan has a reputation for being full of backward rednecks. I ain’t gonna lie—growing up, most of my father’s cronies were that way. Thick as fuck and couldn’t do shit without screwing it up. Skinheads, lower-ranked soldiers, you know?”
“But there were some members that weren’t,” Tank continued. He cast an embarrassed glance at Tanner. “We weren’t, for starters.”
Tanner nodded. “It’s not the norm, but some of us were good. Smart, strong fighters, or just outright fucking psychos. The skinheads and rednecks are the foot soldiers. The likes of us, the likes of Meister, are the fucking SS. The planners, leaders, the generals—the ones who believe in the cause so much that they’re fucking lethal with what they’ll do, what they’re capable of. Meister is true Aryan Brotherhood; he’s preparing for war. He’s the real fucking deal.”
“And now he’s in our neck of the woods to stir up shit?” I asked.
Tanner nodded. “Comes from northern Texas. Never moved our way before. But the Klan are building day by day, joining forces with other white supremacist gangs—like the Brotherhood—and with the shit that’s on the news twenty-four-seven, blacks and whites at each others throats, he’s moved to the headquarters.” The brother’s jaw clenched. “To my father and uncle, who’ll be protecting him from being found out by the feds.” He sighed and ran his hand down his face. “From what I can figure out, this ghost-town brothel of his has only existed in the last year or so. He’s looking to fund something.”
“They ain’t dealing guns?” Cowboy drawled. “I thought that’s what Rider said the contract with the cult was for?”
“Rider was sure it was guns. At least it was when he was dealing with the Klan—it was all about arms. The Klan was selling them on and taking a cut.”
“His fucking twin,” Hush spat. “He changed the arrangement, didn’t he? When Rider was locked up in cult prison?”
“Think so,” Tanner said after a few seconds of silence.
“Then what the fuck are they dealing? What was Judah giving them if not Israeli guns?”
“Women.”

In my eyes, K Bromberg never fails to deliver and she has certainly not disappointed with this new book – the first in a duet. This book pulled me in, gripping me tight and held onto me for dear life until the end – yes that ending!!!!! I thought i’d figured it all out, thought I knew how Kristy was going to leave this in preparation for book 2 but i was wrong on so many levels – prepare yourself for a cliffhanger.

Easton Wylder is the star catcher for the Austin Aces baseball team. Having been injured in a game, he is now currently on the disabled list and struggling with his rehabilitation. Scout Dalton is assigned to get him back to match fitness. These two are alike in a number of ways, both living in the shadow of their fathers – Easton’s the legendary Aces player, Cal Wylder and Scout the respected physiotherapist, Doc Dalton.

Scout is all business, she has a job to do not only for her but her father also. She desperately wants to prove herself and getting Easton back to game fitness is the way to do it. East just wants back on the field, he will do anything he can to achieve that and relieve the pressure around him from his club and his own father – sometimes he just wishes his father would be just a dad which is what he needs right now.

The attraction between these two simmers right from the start. They are attracted to each other, it sizzles, it crackles until it reaches boiling point. Both have trust issues, Scout is easily spooked but Easton can be very persuasive when he wants something and that something he wants is Scout

Kristy just has this way with words that has you feeling her characters every single emotion. The Player is certainly right up there with my favourites of Kristy’s books, for me its actually really hard to pick a complete favourite as i love them all for different reasons. This book is packed full of intense chemistry, a dose of angst and will have you like me, hooked from the very first page. At the end, i was left wanting more, another quality of Kristy’s writing, no matter what the ending she always leaves me wanting, no needing more. Can i wait for book 2 … well, i’m going to have to I guess. It can’t come soon enough.

4 stars – Lighthearted, swoon worthy single dad romance – need i say more

This was a fun, light hearted read with plenty of swoon factor and a great addition to this series of books. Kendall Ryan has this great ability to pull you into her stories which provide bucket loads of entertainment, great heroines and super hot men and this book was no exception.

When Max arrives home to find his ex on the doorstep and a baby in tow his whole life is about to be turned upside down. He’s never wanted commitment and now he’s literally been left holding the baby – well 1 year old Dylan, the daughter he never knew existed. Addison is shy, sweet and has been left homeless, shaken and feeling worthless when her last relationship fell apart. Answering Max’s advert for a nanny seems the ideal way to get her life back on track and for her to prove herself but she wasn’t counting on how hot Max Alexander was going to be.

The chemistry between Max and Addison is there from the minute Max open’s the door and it doesn’t take long for it to reach boiling point. Max is trying to be the best daddy he can be to his little girl whilst learning along the way and Addison is brilliant with Dylan, falling more and more in love with her sweet endearing ways the more time she spends with her. Max literally had me swooning, he just dove straight in no questions asked, his relationship with Dylan sweet and heart melting whilst trying to fight the ever building feelings for Addison until neither of them could take it any longer.

I really enjoyed this book, as i have all the others in the series. It will melt your heart, make you swoon – what more could you want from a single dad romance 🙂

She leaves the old one behind.

Until one day, she sees the face of a ghost on the news. Brecken seems to have risen from the dead, but she knows she can’t perform the same miracle for herself. While Brecken was held in a torture camp for the past five years, she’s been trapped in her own kind of prison. One she can’t be freed from.

The man she mourned comes back to join the living, but the girl he wanted to spend his life with isn’t the same woman he comes back for. Brecken isn’t the same person either. The past five years have changed them both. While he’s determined to put the pieces back together, she’s resolved to let hers rot where they shattered.

Broken or not, Brecken wants her back. He’ll do anything to achieve that. Even if it means going against the warden of Camryn’s personal prison—her husband.
My head lifted. “There is an explanation.”
“You don’t owe me one.” His head barely shook. “And it doesn’t change the outcome.”
“What outcome?”
Brecken did half a turn, motioning at the house behind me before indicating at me. “You belong to someone else now.”
I couldn’t deny it.
Yet I couldn’t confirm it either.
“It’s okay,” he continued, his throat moving. “I’m happy to have you in my life. In whatever capacity I can. Even if it’s saving my ass every once in a while when I flambé my scrambled eggs.”
I stood from my seat and moved beside him. Regardless of everything else, he was alive. “I’m happy to have you in my life in whatever way too. Even if it’s saving my ass from something else.”
His shoulder touched mine. “I’ll save your ass from whatever you need saving from.”
“Hero complex?” My eyebrow lifted at him.
“Far less noble,” he replied, his eyes dropping behind me. His mouth stretched into a grin. “You’ve got a nice ass. Totally worth saving.”
Elbowing him, I feigned appall, but he saw through the act.
“I better get going. I don’t want to overstay my welcome.” He moved down the steps, holding the handrail as he took them backward. “Let me know what you decide to tell Crew. If you decide to tell him anything.”
My arms folded as I moved to the edge of the porch, watching him lower himself one step at a time. “Things between Crew and I are—”
“Complicated. Yeah. I was listening. I know that.” Brecken stopped when he stepped onto the pathway. “I don’t want to make things more complicated for you, so just let me know how I can do that. Unless you want me to complicate things for you, then by all means, let me know how I can do that as well.” He was joking, the glint in his eyes told that, but he wasn’t entirely. His face told me that.
When I went to reply, all that came out was a sigh.
“Listen, you’re with him. I know you’re his wife.” He was staring at me, still holding onto the handrail. Not able to let go. “If he wants to hear me say that to his face to make him feel better, I will.”
“You know what question Crew will follow up with.”
He nodded once. “If I’ll respect the fact that you’re his wife.”
My silence was a confirmation.
“Well, that’s simple,” he said, his voice sounding like the one I remembered. It didn’t waver. It didn’t rasp. Brecken’s eyes didn’t leave mine as he backed away. “I’d tell him that I have every intention of showing him the same amount of respect he showed me when he moved in on my girl weeks after my fake execution.”
