Well Meghan has certainly done it again. This book had the perfect mix of romance and humour with a little bit of angst thrown in and this is one of the reasons i come back time and time again to read her books as nobody quite gets that balance right like Meghan.
Racer and Georgie couldn’t be more opposite if they tried. One from a life of privilege and luxury and the other struggling to keep himself afloat. I loved Racer from the minute we met him in My Best Friend’s Ex. He’s quick witted, he’s crude and he loves to joke around but underneath it all he is also loyal and dedicated, taking on extra work just to keep the roof over his head.
On the face of it Georgie has it all but looks can be deceiving. She’s not interested in following in her mothers footsteps doing charity work and marrying a “nice” man to become his trophy wife. She has ambitions of her own, to open a bridal store but when she goes to her father with her business plan he laughs her out of the room telling her that her place in life is to play the doting little wife. Undeterred by his sexist attitude and attempts to block her plans, she convinces Racer to work for her which for the right price he is only to happy to do.
Their journey from enemies to lovers was a hilarious one. I loved the witty banter, the pranks and the way neither held back but i also loved the chemistry between them which was smoking hot. Whilst on paper they were worlds apart, in reality they were two kindred spirits, drawn to each other, the attraction undeniable. Another fantastic book from Meghan that will keep you laughing and swooning right to the end
