Title: The Bars Between Us

Author: A.S. Teague

Genre: Contemporary Romance

About The Bars Between Us:

I don’t have a damn thing in common with the beautiful rich girl who walks in to my bar. She’s southern class, fancy cars, and designer shoes.

I’ve got a drunk for a mother, a cheater for a father, and a reputation for trouble I’ve more than earned.

I look the other way, pretending I don’t notice how perfect she is. She wouldn’t give me the time of day anyway. Until she shatters that first impression and shows me she’s so much more––everything I never thought I deserved.

After a lifetime of being a disappointment, I want to prove to her that I’m better than my past.

We have one tragic thing in common, and the thread that binds us together will tear us apart as it unravels.

Are we strong enough to break through the Bars Between Us?

4 Stars

What a great read. I was totally sucked into this one from the prologue and it was really hard to put down. Grace Monroe is certainly a little spitfire. Having lost her dad at an early age in the most horrible way, the remainder of her childhood whilst privileged was cold with little love. Now a qualified nurse, her first job takes her back to the coast where she lived with her parents, she never could have known that the first person she meets would change everything

Bronn Williams has had a troubled life. His dad was killed when he was young and his drunk mother wanted nothing to do with him. Now he drinks to forget. When a sassy woman sits down in his bar, who is the exact opposite of him and everything he believes he isn’t, his life is thrown into turmoil. He has never wanted a relationship with anyone but Grace changed all that, she made him believe in himself, believe he could be better and that deep down they were more similar then they appear on the outside.

But the path to love was not easy and just as things seem to be working out for them, their lives getting back on track, a spanner is thrown in the works, tossing everything up in the air. This is huge and neither are sure they can come back from this.

The Bars Between us certainly was an emotion filled read. I loved Grace and all her sass. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind or call Bronn out on anything. She was down to earth and honest, nothing like the life she was brought up in and Bronn really had to start from scratch and learn to accept his life and his past for what it was and know that it doesn’t define him. I loved the chemistry between them and I think they both certainly learnt that you can’t judge a book by its cover. I’ve really enjoyed all of AS Teague’s books but i think this one might be my favourite to date and you certainly won’t regret one clicking this.
