Whispers and the Roars
by K. Webster
Publication Date: December 6, 2016
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Dark Romance
When my eyes are closed, the monster can’t ever see me.
When I sing a song in my head, the monster can’t ever hear me.
When I pretend my bedroom is a playground where I play hide and seek, the monster can’t ever find me.
The darkness should frighten me.
I should worry I’ll find more monsters…monsters scarier than him.
But I’m not afraid.
It’s safe here.
When I’m inside of my head…
He. Can’t. Ever. Touch. Me.
Whispers and the Roars is a dark romance. Strong sexual themes and violence, which could trigger emotional distress are found in this story. The abuse written in this story is graphic and not glossed over which could be upsetting to some. Proceed with caution. This story is NOT for everyone.
First of all I have to start off by saying that I went into this book completely blind, I did read the blurb but it doesn’t really tell you too much, but it does get your attention and makes you want to see what K. Webster has in store for us.
Well I can honestly say that this book is by far her best work yet!
Yeo and Kady’s story is one that will grip you right from the start and is one hell of an emotional rollercoaster! It is just so hauntingly beautiful, and completely heartbreaking as well. It’s one of those stories that shows you that no matter what anyone goes through in life and how damaged a person can feel like they are, that as long as you’ve got that one person who will love you unconditionally, you can get through anything.
That’s all I’m going to say about the book, as I hope that you will go into this book blind just like I did, that way you will enjoy it SO much more! Another fantastic read from Kristi and after this book and I can’t to see what else she’s going to write next!
