Title: Sordid

Genre: Dark Erotic Romance

It took me years to find
the courage to speak to Luka. He seemed exactly like me. Intelligent. Focused.
But he’s not the man I imagined.

His reality is cruel and dark. He traps me in his web, his power twisting
tighter the more I struggle, until it’s hopeless. I can’t break free.

As he drags me unwillingly into his filthy world, I can’t ignore the terrifying
idea circling my mind. What if I belong here with him?

Luka and Addison meet at a party but they know each other as Luka is a TA in one of her lectures. She takes a shine to him almost instantly. She has this connection with him. She gets involved in a poker game and then finds herself drunk and out of it. She and Luka then end up in a bedroom upstairs in the house where the party is. There is questionable intentions and things are done with or without consent. It is hard to tell and I’m sure when you read it you will know what I mean.

Luka then takes Addison back to the house where he realises what she thought he was doing to her. He couldn’t risk her running her mouth as his family are a dangerous one. Anyone who reveals things that they shouldn’t are dealt with in a most horrific way. Luka clearly doesn’t want that so he pushes Addison to do things that at first she doesn’t want to do but then ends up actually enjoying.

I really liked the development of Luka. He is not as straight forward as he looks but he is honest with himself regarding the feelings he has for Addison. I thought this book was dark but not as dark as it could have been. However that doesn’t make it a wishy washy story. There are elements in this book that may make you feel uncomfortable but it is also a daring book.

I love Luka because underneath it all, he really does want to protect Addison and he does fall in love with her.

Addison is a strong female but at first she resists Luka. She feels confused and let’s say scared of what he could do to her and she is right to feel that way. Once she gives in to what he wants, she notices the change in him and slowly finds herself in love with him. I like her because she is true to herself. It’s endearing especially as she stands up Luka. They end up being equals and perfect for each other.
