4.5 stars – an emotional rollercoaster
What a rollercoaster of a book this was. After being pulled in by that prologue, things started off relatively slowly and then bam, once it got going, it really got going. I read this book in one sitting, finishing in the early hours of the morning because I just couldn’t put it down.
Dylan McGraw is obnoxiously cocky, your typical man whore and is never short of female company. Aubrey Owens is new in town after moving from California and she soon gains the attention of Dylan but not wanting to be another notch on his bed post she makes him work for it before giving him a chance at anything more
We had seen glimpses of Dylan & Audrey in the previous two books and you could feel the animosity between them and I did wonder what could have happened to change things between them but nothing quite prepared me for what took place and the darkness and ugliness that ruined there beautiful relationship
Through this all, Dylan never stopped loving Aubrey and in her own way she never stopped loving him and I spent most of the book hoping that their paths in life would bring them back to each other, to their sole mate.
This is my favourite so far out of the series and as previous books we are perfectly set up for the next book – Austin’s story. Once it got going, this story was fast paced and full of plenty of angst and the emotions felt so real, I felt Aubrey’s pain and Dylan’s frustration and anger as parts of this story played out. There are some parts of the book that some may find difficult but I urge you to move past this and continue on the emotional journey that this story takes you on.
