Years of being labeled and looked upon with disdain by everyone in my hometown almost wrecked me.
Four years ago I became a mother and together we were enough…Until I met him.
He wanted to rebuild my broken–I just didn’t know how to let him.
This is my story of how one man’s love changed everything I thought I knew about life, love and myself.
But in the end, can Levi Eddison prove to be my restoration?
She was a woman of many contradictions. I recognized the happiness and sorrow each fighting its way to the surface from deep within.
I was drawn to her immediately.
Behind her long legs, chestnut brown hair and beautiful eyes laid a damaged soul.
I needed to change that–I just didn’t know how.
This is my story of how I met a broken girl and vowed to make her whole.
On the Rocks by Gillian Jones
4.5 stars – White Knights truly exist
I hadn’t read the first book in the Pub Fiction series but this did not affect my enjoyment of this emotionally written book
Braunwyn (Braun) is a struggling single mum, abandoned by her own parents with only her Grams and friend London to rely on. She has suffered the type of tragedy that no one should ever have to endure and is desperately trying to move on with her life and make things better for her and her daughter Emme. In an attempt to move things along and get out and start meeting people, she applies for a job at Pub Fiction, a local and very popular bar – enter Levi !!!
Levi ……. Well what can I say, this man is just so easy to fall in love with. Pub Fiction is his baby, his entire life and working all hours he has never met the right person to make him want more than a casual hook up. That is until Braun turns up for her interview. He is instantly attracted to her and he feels that spark between them but its obvious that she is hiding something and isn’t ready for anything intense so he settles for friendship with the hope that it will develop.
I loved Levi. His patience and love for Braun was obvious, he took things slow and at her pace, waiting for her to call “trumps” despite wanting it to all hot and heavy from the start and not hiding the fact either. He took time to build a relationship with her daughter, his Scooby and there is nothing sexier than a man who is good with children. The chemistry between them is intense and when they do finally come together it is smoking hot.
There is a serious side to this story but it is dealt with so well and it becomes obvious that this is not a book about a down trodden victim but of strength, survival and most of all hope. Braun was promised a white knight and Levi was certainly that.
I really enjoyed this book, my first one by Gillian and I will certainly be looking our for future releases from this author who pulled me into an inspiring story and left me with the hope that things can always get better.

I’m a wife, mother, and a crazy Canadian, living in Ontario with the loves of my life–my amazing hubby and sweetest little boy. I’m Admittedly addicted to… my friends, red wine, shoes, handbags, and laughter. My biggest addiction, however, is reading. That shit runs deep in my veins, I’m a lover of alpha males, hot sex, with a side of angst all topped off with the perfect happy ever after.
